AFA has expanded its services by providing subsidies to low-income pet owners who cannot afford even our low costs when funds allow. We continue to be active in rescuing and sheltering horses, ponies, donkeys and even the occasional deer. Though we do not maintain a small animal shelter, we do often pull animals from shelters who would be otherwise euthanized for fostering, and rescue those so severely injured that other facilities cannot, or will not be able to provide the level of care needed to save them. We also have current court cases pending in which animals cannot be released for adoption for whom we must continue to provide.
Your donation goes straight to helping these, and more animals. The MASH is a self-sustaining program, generating nearly as much revenue as the costs incurred. However, subsidies to the very poor families seeking to help stop pet overpopulation, trap/neuter/release programs for ferals and costs for rescuing, rehabilitation and veterinary care for animals large and small, can only come from people like you.
All fostering, rescue, cruelty investigations and legislative work is done by volunteers and through a network of small, grassroots organizations throughout Arkansas.
